Tswalu Desert Reserve - This upmarket reserve is an extensive private game reserve surrounding the rugged Koranneberg Mountains in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Tswalu Kalahari Reserve covers 900 km2 (90 000 ha) of land on the edge of the mysterious desert wilderness that is the Kalahari.

Tswalu, meaning ‘new beginning’ in the Tswana language,is one of the largest privately owned game reserves in South Africa.

The historic home of the San and malaria-free, the reserve has over 70 species of mammals and more than 200 bird species.

At Tswalu, the game-viewing opportunities are unparalleled in terms of South African safaris. Guided walks meander across silent red dunes.
