Londolozi Game Reserve
Londolozi offers prolific viewing of Africa’s most impressive animals, including lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo, cheetah, hippo and crocodile, as well as birds, plants, insects and reptiles. Londolozi was the 1992 winner of the world’s most prestigious environmental tourism award "Tourism for Tomorrow".
Londolozi’s Bush and Tree Campsare members of the prestigious Relais et Chateaux association. Your visit includes an early morning game drive with an armed game ranger and tracker. Their in-depth knowledge and interpretive skills ensure that your experience is informative and memorable. Using open Land Rovers, they escort you into the wilderness in search of wildlife. You return for a sumptuous mid-morning breakfast, followed by an optional nature walk with an experienced, armed Shangaan tracker. As the sun loses its intensity, you set off again in search of Africa’s big game. After "sundowners", your drive continues into the night where fascinating nocturnal creatures can be seen – and the large predators begin their hunt. After an evening of thrilling viewing superb home cooking and a huge log fire under the stars await you.
The Londolozi has its roots as far back as 1921 and has been run by the same family for over sixty years. Today eight double chalets with elevated private balconies and en-suite bathrooms nestle into the riverine vegetation overlooking the beautiful Sand River. The original rustic rondavels offer charming and comfortable double rooms with en-suite shower and bathroom facilities.
What was formerly known as Londolozi Bush Camp has evolved into two luxurious camps called Founders Camp and Pioneer Camp.
As from the 1st of March 2007, Bateleur camp will become known as Varty Camp
