Addo Elephant Park
Gorah Elephant Camp

Gorah, the first private concession in a National Park in the Cape, is a 4500ha malaria free sanctuary situated in the heart of the Addo Elephant National Park, home to the densest elephant population on earth. The main house, built in mid-1856, has been immaculately restored, period furnished and decorated to exude the opulence and romance of safaris in the late 1800’s.
Whether it is the superb dining, wonderful walks, the professionally guided open vehicle drives, or simply lazing at the poolside, this exciting game experience is an ideal way to start or finish a memorable Garden Route holiday.
Highlights are close up Elephant encounters; Black Rhino; Cape Buffalo - the only herd to survive into the twentieth century in the province; numerous antelope species; a wealth of birdlife; a treasure trove of botanical species and of course the unique flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo.

Accommodation at Gorah Elephant Camp:
