Riding an ostrich in Oudtshoorn

Itinerary:

DAY 1: Oudtshoorn B
We depart Cape Town early in the morning for Oudtshoorn. We spend the afternoon at the Cango Caves and ride ostriches at the Cango Ostrich Farm before retiring to our accommodation.
Accommodation: Kleinplaas (rooms with en-suite bathroom)

DAY 2: Plettenberg Bay B
We drive over the stunning Outeniqua pass down to the coast. Once in Wilderness we’ll do some canoeing on the Wilderness lagoon. Try spot some 200 different species of birds on the lagoon while paddling through the Wilderness National Park. Our destination for the day is Plettenberg Bay, where you have the remainder of the day at leisre.

DAY 3: Plettenberg / Tsitsikamma B
Today we take a day trip to the Tsitsikamma National Park. You have the opportunity to go on the highest bungi jump at Bloukrans. We spend the day hiking to the suspension bridge at Storms River mouth.

DAY 4: Albertinia BD
A leisurely departure take us from Plettenberg Bay to Garden Route Game Lodge, where we will arrive in the early afternoon. We go on an afternoon game drive to spot some animals that this reserve has to offer. Tonight we enjoy a scrumptious dinner at the lodge.

DAY 5: Cape Town B
After an early morning game drive we leave the lodge and follow the coastal route towards Hermanus. There is time for an optional extra of Shark Cage Diving if any one so wishes. We explore Hermanus including land-based whale watching (in season) and visit a winery for some wine tasting. From Hemanus to Betty’s Bay where we visit the penguins at Stony Point. Return to Cape Town late afternoon via the stunning False Bay coastline where hopefully we’ll see more whales or dolphins.

Extra information

Accommodation:
This safari makes use of guest houses and lodges. These establishments have swimming pools, bar and dining areas. Rooms are en-suite and laundry facilities are available.

Participation: 
This is a NON participation safari tour.

Transport:
We use a fully equipped Toyota Quantums with comfortable seating, large windows and a music system. All luggage is carried in a trailer to ensure maximum comfort in the vehicle.

Spending money:
Clients are advised to bring enough money to cover the purchase of curios, and additional entertainment. There are automatic teller machines (ATM’s) available everywhere to draw money. Foreign exchange into the local currency is possible in most large cities through which we pass. International credit cards and travelers cheques are widely accepted.

Meals: 
Please advise us of any special dietary requirements in advance.

First Aid: 
Guides are trained in basic first aid and the vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive medical aid kit. Preventative Malaria medication should be taken before the trip and throughout its duration. It is advisable to consult a doctor prior to departure.

Insurance:
It is compulsory for all travelers to have insurance covering their personal requirements, medical expenses and personal possessions. This is to be arranged before leaving your home country. Please let us know if you would like us to arrange travel insurance for you - travel@toursa.com.
